What is Certified Medication Technician

Green Creek Education’s Certified Medication Technician (CMT) program is designed for students who are ready to advance their healthcare career and learn how to safely assist with medication administration under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Medication Technicians play an important role in resident care. In this program, students learn medication safety, medication classifications, dosage awareness, proper documentation, observation and reporting, resident rights, infection control, and the importance of accuracy and accountability when passing medications.

To make training more flexible, Green Creek Education offers the CMT program in multiple learning options, including Online, In-Person, and Hybrid formats. Students can complete coursework through the Student Portal and may also access assignments conveniently through the FREE GCE Education App, making it easier to stay on track while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities.

Enrollment Requirements

To enroll in the CMT program, students must meet the required eligibility guidelines before beginning or completing the program. Students should be prepared to provide or complete the following:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age
  2. CNA x 6 months
  3. Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED
  4. Submit a recommendation letter
  5. Complete a successful background check
  6. Complete all required enrollment forms and agreements

Once enrollment requirements are completed and approved, students will receive access to their course materials, assignments, and program information through the student portal.
